This was her email to me this morning:
This is Nokki, being asked which humans he felt most deserved to be strung up by their ankles and beaten across the upper back, with color-dyed banana tree husks.
His response “mmmm....I’d have to go with Kim Hill”
God, I love this girl :) Happy Friday Voxers!!!!
I called my gal pal Monica yesterday and ask her to lunch for today. She says yes but that she needs to eat inexpensively so I suggest McDonalds. I suggest it because I have been secretly craving a Happy Meal for about a week now and it is time to feed my fix.
We meet at noon and it is our turn to order.
McD Employee: Hi, how can I help you?
Monica: Hello, we are here for lunch today.
I start cracking up laughing.... NO SHIT! That is why everyone is here at the lunch hour, she only wants us to order food not explain our reasons for being there.
I guess you just had to be there, I am smirking right now just thinking of her saying that....silly girls.

- People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.

Here is my info:
1. My Kidlet and I at the age of two look EXACTLY alike, here I am with my groovy parents.
The Kidlet
2. I love Hamburger Helper, LOVE IT! Beef Stroganoff....yummy!
3. This is one of my all time favorite photos, it is me and the ex hubs posing for our engagement portrait. I just think it is so cute. We were young, stupid and in love.
4. I went to a pediatrician until I was almost 20 years old. God bless Dr. Joseph Shoss but he finally sat me down to break the news that I was his oldest patient (none of the others were enrolled in college) and I needed to find a GP. It was a sad day for me, I have yet to find a doctor that was as good as he was to me.
5. In junior high I dreamed of moving to California, driving a red Corvette, marrying John Taylor from Duran Duran and teaching 2nd grade. This is such a riot now because I don't even really like being around more than 3 kids at a time and can anyone see me in a Corvette? I think not.
6. I secretly wanted The Kidlet to be a boy but now I am thrilled to have a little girl.
7. I was in a sorority while at U of H, I got initiated then quit. Get a good view at my big ass hair (I am in the middle)
While at SFA I was a Sigma Chi Sweetheart. That was much more up my ally, all of the parties and none of the "rules".
8. This is the worst boss I have ever had, her name is Cheryl Hayes and she is a real bitch. Just ask Miranda, Dawn, Bryan, Ross, Thomas, Chris, Agnes and countless others that she has spread her snottiness to throughout the years.
See, that was fun!
* She does not judge
* She does not make excuses
* She listens
* She is there when you need her
* She is there when you need her at midnight
* She only wants the best for you
* She understands when you say things that could be hurtful to others
* She loves me
* She (and her kidlets) love my monkey
* She, is my Miranda
I am so thankful that I met her. I have never had such a great girlfriend.
I hope she doesn't dump my ass anytime soon!
Love you mama.
I am flying to Dallas on Saturday to get my little angel, baby, monkey faced, Kidlet and Miranda (Irishluckylass on Vox) and the kids are coming to get us at the airport. We are going to have so much fun that day, spend the night and The Kidlet and I will fly home on Sunday.
I miss my best friend. I am sure that we will let the kids run wild and tire themselves out and M and I will snuggle up on the couch and talk and talk and talk.
Don't worry folks, there will be numerous photos taken and posted.
I am thrilled.
This is my gal pal, Lyndee and myself.
I love this girl. She and I met in August 07 when we started working for the same marketing solutions company. We instantly hit it off.
For the duration of our time working together, she would make me laugh at the very least 3 times a day. Her stories are the absolute best. Here are a few snippets of Lyndee stories, if they don't make you grin then you have no sense of humor.
* She has an Aunt Cookie that is severely obese. She has huge boobs and her profession is as a bearded lady in the local circus.
* At the age of 12 she and her cousin were home alone when the phone rang. It was a man that told her that he had her father (who was gone on business) tied up and gagged at a truck stop. She could hear someone in the background grunting so she thought that it was real. She runs across the street and calls the police from a neighbors house. The police call her mother. Hours later all family, friends had gathered at their home hoping for another phone call when in walks her father with no clue of what had been going on. Needless to say, it was a hoax.
* Recently while at the local unemployment office a stranger walks up to her and kindly proceeds to tell her that she looks just like Tiger Woods? She said that she knows that often she is confused for a woman of color but never a man.
* On an appointment with a new client (who builds yachts) she attempts to do her typical "song and dance" when the client tells her that he has been to outer space. He went there and all of the aliens look just like humans but they have no belly buttons. For the remainder of the day she went around the office pulling up everyones shirts to ensure that we all were in fact, human.
These are just a few examples but most of all I just love her because she has been a supportive friend to me. I think that I am going to know her for the rest of my life.
I had coffee with a friend this morning. He too is from Texas and while we were sitting down gulping mass amounts of caffeine his mother called and she was on speaker.
Her accent, OMG I felt like it was my grandmother on the line. I was cracking up lauging. They had the same Southern twang and tended to turn one syllable words into at least three. So cute.
Anyway, good weekend. Had my third interview with the same builder. I don't want to get over confident but I do feel really good about it.
I had my little party on Saturday and it was fabu, great wine, great food and most of all, great friends. I will post pics later.
Happy St. Patricks Day Voxers.... you better be wearing green or I will cyber pinch you, REAL hard!
Thanks so much Irishluckylass, I have a new banner that celebrates Spring!
It's pink.
It's posh.
It's perfect!
Thanks Miranda, I am very happy and it is sure to improve my quality of writing....well not so much but I like it.
If you read my blog entry from earilier today you will know why I am so upset today.
If you are one of the lucky ones that did not read my blog, let me rapidly recap:
I have a "friend". This "friend" was with me for almost two hours last night but waited until they got home to text me a message stating their disapproval for my regular glass of wine or two each evening. FINE, I don't care but don't text me if you do not agree. Get a spine, say something to my face. Regardless, I had a crappy day because of this text.
Here is my question.... WHY BE SO DAMN JUDGMENTAL OF OTHERS ALL THE TIME?
I do not consider myself judgemental, I know numerous folks with all kinds of personalities (some have more than one). I applaud my friends, family, coworkers, etc. on being different. A world full of "me" would be boring.
I have quirks, I do and some of them are annoying as heck:
- When I get stressed, I pull out my eyelashes
- If I am sad, I want to be alone and do not want to be bothered by phone, email or random visits
- When I am happy, I like to listen to old school early 90's hip hop
- My favorite foul word in the entire world is "shit"
- I make strange faces when I am typing emails depending on the message
- I enjoy grocery shopping but only like doing it alone and I need at the least an hour to do it properly
- When traveling alone I only want to sit by the window on a plane and do not want to talk to the person in the middle
- When I don't get enough sleep and have no morning coffee, I snap at people
- I love to sing, I am a terrible singer and acknowledge this but don't remind me
- The Kidlet is #1 in my life and there is no one out there that will be able to take that spot, deal with it or move on
- I like to wind down in the evenings with a glass of wine
I am who I am. I am not perfect (yet quite close) but I am human. If you are human, you too have quirks....stop judging others! And be open to other people, their personalities and lifestyles.
It will make you a better person. I guarantee it!
